A striking Afghan Turkmen rug inspired by a celebrated 17th-century Persian Kerman design. The rich terracotta-red field is filled with sweeping palmettes, scrolling vines and stylised floral motifs, framed by a contrasting deep navy floral border. Soft blues, gold, ivory and green accents give the composition depth while preserving the character of the historic design.
Hand-knotted in Afghanistan using traditional Turkmen weaving techniques and natural vegetable dyes, the rug has beautifully varied, warm tones and an appealing handmade character.
