An exceptionally fine Persian Qum rug dating to circa 1975, featuring an unusual striped Boteh (paisley) design arranged in alternating vertical panels. The soft blue, ivory, peach, green and warm neutral tones are framed by a richly detailed floral border, creating a refined and highly decorative composition.
Hand-knotted in Qum, Persia, using superfine pure kork wool pile on a silk foundation, this rug displays the precision, fine drawing and luxurious handle associated with high-grade Qum weaving. The exceptionally soft kork wool combined with the silk base allows for excellent detail and a beautifully refined finish.
