A refined Persian Nain dating to circa 1980, featuring an elegant central medallion surrounded by finely drawn Shah-Abbasi floral motifs and scrolling arabesques. The unusual soft ivory field, powder-blue detailing and subtle accents of navy, brown and muted green give this rare piece a beautifully light and sophisticated character.
Hand-knotted in Nain, Persia, in 9LA quality using fine wool with silk highlights, the rug displays the precision and delicacy associated with high-grade Nain weaving. The silk details accentuate selected flowers and outlines, adding gentle lustre and definition to the intricate design.
