A magnificent oversize hand-knotted Indo Serapi, faithfully inspired by the celebrated 19th-century Serapi-Heriz carpets of northwest Persia. The dramatic geometric medallion composition combines a rich brick-red field with soft blue, ivory, sage and deep navy accents, framed by a bold floral border.
Handwoven in Jaipur, India, using handspun New Zealand wool, the rug has the character and visual presence of an antique Serapi while offering the durability required for a substantial living or dining space. Its impressive 553x365 cm proportions make it particularly suitable for a grand room where the entire furniture setting can sit comfortably upon the rug.
