Nomadic Azari Sumac Mafresh – Bedding-Bag Face

A rare nomadic Azari Sumac, originally woven as a bedding-bag face or Mafresh. The design features bold geometric panels, stylised bird motifs and strong tribal borders, showing the decorative richness and practical heritage of Azerbaijan nomadic weaving.

Woven circa 1940, this collectable textile has excellent tribal character and strong visual presence. It would suit collectors of Caucasian and Azari textiles, or could be displayed as a wall hanging or decorative floor piece.
