Azerbaijan Nomadic Weave Bedding-Bag (Tacheh) Origin: Shahsavan Tent, Near Moghan Field, North-Western Persia (Azerbaijan) Technique: Very Fine Sumac Weave Size: 174 x 115 cm Type: Opened and Modified Nomadic Bedding Bag
This rare and collectable Tacheh is a beautifully woven nomadic bedding-bag face, originally created by Shahsavan weavers in a tent near the fertile Moghan field in Azerbaijan, North-Western Persia. Woven using the very fine sumac technique, this piece was traditionally used to store bedding but has since been opened and modified for use as a striking floor rug.
Measuring 174 x 115 cm, the Tacheh showcases the precision and skill of Shahsavan tribal weaving. The sumac flatweave technique offers both visual texture and structural integrity, resulting in a piece that is not only durable but also artistically rich. The motifs reflect the nomadic lifestyle—geometric, symbolic, and deeply rooted in tribal identity.
Ideal for collectors of tribal textiles or those seeking a distinctive and meaningful accent piece, this Tacheh is both a functional rug and a conversation piece that carries the legacy of Persian nomadic artistry.
