Description

A distinctive rug inspired by 19th-century Caucasian Kazak designs, featuring a bold geometric medallion surrounded by compartmented tribal motifs, stars and symbolic forms. The soft blue ground is enlivened with brick red, ivory, indigo, ochre and natural earthy tones, creating a strong yet balanced decorative character.

Hand-knotted in Samarkand using a traditional Chechen weave, with wool pile coloured using vegetable dyes. The crisp geometric drawing, strong tribal influence and naturally varied tones give the rug an authentic Caucasian character with a beautifully handcrafted surface.
